This weekend OpTic Gaming was out in full force with multiple teams in action. After solidifying themselves as the ELEAGUE Season Two champions a few weeks ago, OpTic CS:GO took to the Turner Studio stage once again with the hopes of qualifying for the first major of 2017.

The team needed to win three best-of-one series’ to qualify for the ELEAGUE Major at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. After an even 1-1 start on Friday, OpTic Gaming matched up against NIP, who many expected to qualify for the major, and managed to close out the map 16-9 and put themselves one map away from a birth in the ELEAGUE major. On Sunday, OpTic CS:GO would match up against Hellraisers. With both rosters at a 2-1 map count this matchup would send one team to the major and the other to the final round of matches. Early on the match would go back and forth for the first 20 rounds before OpTic Gaming pulled away with a 16-10 victory to qualify for the major.

Huge thanks to the GreenWall and all our sponsors for their continued support of all of our teams. You can catch the ELEAGUE Major live from the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia from January 27-29.
