OpTic DOTA Roster Announcement

28 Nov 2017 | By Kienan Osborne

The OpTic Dota 2 roster is thrilled to announce the addition of Martin “Saksa” Sazdov as a full time stand in at the 4 position support role for the remainder of 2017. Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen will no longer be rostered for OpTic Gaming’s Dota 2 division.

As part of this current roster, members of the Dota 2 team have shown great promise and potential in the North American region. The team has qualified for The Summit 8 and ASUS ROG MASTERS events upcoming in December while having just recently won the MoonduckTV Midas Mode event this last week. Moving forward, the roster will be looking to build on these successes to further cement itself as a contender in any event which it is competing. Change is something that hardly comes with without difficult decisions, and we feel that the departure of Rasmus from our roster not only provides Rasmus a chance to seek other opportunities but more importantly gives us the potential to improve and grow as a team.

With the addition of Saksa, we are enthused about the opportunity to play with one of the most talented players at his position and are extremely confident in the upside that he can bring to our team’s performance. The inclusion of Saksa not only brings in another experienced player, but a talent with a tremendously high ceiling which we will plan to take full advantage of. Currently Saksa is in Stockholm, practicing with the team alongside Zai and Pajkatt for the upcoming online qualifiers for the Galaxy Battles Major. He will be traveling with our team to both the ASUS ROG MASTERS event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and The Summit 8 Minor in Los Angeles, CA. Following the start of the new-year, we will be pursuing all possible options for a permanent replacement to help us achieve our goals and expectations leading up to The International 2018.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi, for standing in for Rasmus during the Midas Mode event this last week. With his assistance the team secured first place in the NA region and with that an $18,000 donation to The Children’s Medical Center Dallas, as the team had vowed to give all prize money to a charity of choosing.

To the always supportive Green Wall, we want to thank you in advance for your continued support and look forward to being able to update you in the coming months on the permanent roster for your Dota 2 team.
