26 Sep 2017 | By Kienan Osborne

Last week’s Vision announcement saw the team had acquired an Overwatch League spot in the Austin, Houston and San Antonio area and would be making its way into the scene.

Today OpTic Gaming is proud to announce that it is stepping outside of FPS for the first time ever and jumping into into yet another esports genre. OpTic Gaming would like to welcome ppd, MiSeRy, Zai, CCnC and Pajkatt, who will represent OpTic Dota, to the Green Wall.

Per Anders “Pajkatt” Olsson Lille

Per Anders “Pajkatt” Olsson Lille has been a name associated among the best since the original Dota and has continued that tradition ever since in Dota 2. Playing the position 1 safe-lane carry role for this new team, he will be looked to regularly to secure farm and carry his way to victories for the team. Pajkatt brings with him the experience and knowledge that comes with playing at the highest level across multiple regions of competitive Dota.

Quinn “CCnC” Callahan

Quinn “CCnC” Callahan, is thought of by many as the next great young talent in Dota 2. At only 19 years old, CCnC playing the mid-lane position 2 looks to prove worthy to the hype and expectations set by his peers. Through flashy game winning playmaking and some of the best laning abilities in Dota, look for Quinn to quickly become a fan favorite and a player that carries his team both early and late game to victory.

Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg

At 20 years old, Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg has been playing competitive Dota 2 at the highest level since 2014, making him one of the most experienced young players in the game today. Zai primarily known for his play with Evil Geniuses over the last few years has over 15 event championships and plans to carry on that winning mentality as part of this new team. Having the versatility to alternate between support and carry Zai and his teammates are confident in his skill playing in the offlane position 3 role this year.

Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen

Considered one of the most veteran players in competitive Dota 2, Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen has been a part of many top tier rosters, most recently the 2016 DC roster leading them to a 2nd place finish as a captain and drafter at The International 6. MISERY will be playing the 4 position support for this new team, providing not only additional in game leadership but proven expertise when it comes to drafting and strategizing.

Peter “PPD” Dager

Known as the winningest captain and drafter in NA Dota 2 and one of the best all time across the world, Peter “PPD” Dager has had tremendous success leading teams to victory. From 2014-2016, Peter led Evil Geniuses to three consecutive podium placing at The International, including a 2015 TI5 Championship. While playing the position 5 support, Peter looks to add to his 13 total event victories and further cement his claim to being one of the best of all time.

This newly formed roster represents OpTic Gaming’s first steps into the world of MOBA esports. OpTic Gaming would also like to extend a huge thank you to the Java Gaming Café for their incredible support throughout the bootcamp. It was a pleasure to team with them.
